I loved the film. I watched it soon after initial release, when I was about 11 I think, before I'd read the book. Probably pointed me in the direction of becoming a David Lynch fan as well.

Can't recall how far into the book series I got, I can remember giving up before the end, but definately read at least 3 of them.

I even tried the prequels. I gave up quickly, but I tried them.
