Honestly? That was my initial reaction the very first time, but it grew on me a great deal. I now really like the style—it's so obviouslly OTT tongue in cheek.

The thing that is missing fro it is the text colour changes; works well on his blog (I usually hate text colour changes), and adds to the "I'm a child's toy" persona a bit. It doesn't suit everyone, but fans significantly outnuber detractors.
