Mill's Grave

Thanks for the Link Mat.

It was pretty cool actually. It took ages to find, as it was hidden away in one of the squares within the cemetery. We finally found the caretaker who pointed us in the right direction, although he had to look it up on the plan, I, of course, presumed that Mill would get people coming to see him everyday but it seems that liberal pilgrimages perhaps aren't the done thing in southern France. The grave was very well tended though but as I said on my site, the most moving thing was the fact that the tomb is really for Harriet, who he considered his soul-mate and the inscription on top is just lovely.

Avignon and Provence are well worth the trip in themselves but you can also have a little bit of liberalism to boot.
