Today has not been a good day. I spent most of the afternoon and early evening at the count, watching friends lose their seats or not gain them, then watched ballot papers get piled higher and higher in the "No" slot, and then had to clear a big pile of potentially spoilt ballots, which overwhelmingly meant me saying "yup, that person clearly meant to vote No" a lot more than the other way around.

So tonight, I'm watching Victoria Coren on Have I Got News For You (not a single guest I can't stand, this is a step up) and looking for things that make me laugh. This is doing the rounds:

golf club rules list

Any and all links to funny, irreverent stuff that have nothing to do with politics, especially not the bloody awful AV referendum, very very gratefully received. As long as it's not LOLcats.

The golf rules are from How To Be A Retronaut ([syndicated profile] retronaut_feed), which is filled with many other good things.

It seems there are hundreds of versions of this pic now but that one made me laugh earlier.

Oh wait, it's politics..

The question is, are they playing Alliance or Horde?

Heh at the first one. There's a tetraptych at the Fitzwilliam Museum [ profile] raggedy_man identified as YCMA (the Y also a crucified Jesus) and claims they deliberately changed the order so it wouldn't be obvious. ;o) Unfortunately the Fitz bans photography in the galleries so I can't provide proof.

Victoria Coren is one of those people I find pretty attractive, but also feel a bit like I shouldn't. A little like Sue Perkins, but that's for a different reason, really.

The following definitions of a Sportsman was drawn up at a meeting representative of all ranks at the Army School of physical training, Aldershot, in 1919. Units represented were of the home forces, France, Italy, Egypt and Mesopotamia.

1) Plays the game for the games sake
2) Plays for the team and not yourself
3) Is a good winner and a good loser; e.g modest in victory & generous in defeat
4) Accepts all decisions in a proper spirit
5) Is chivalrous towards a defeated opponent
6) Is unselfish and always willing to help others become proficient
7) As a spectator applauds good play on both sides
8) Never interferes with referees or judges, no matter what the decision.
