Browser wars

I installed a statcounter on to the blog, and it can throw up some funny results. Our most vituperative troll so far complained I was "anti-English" (?) He's in Indiana... Best bit though:

32.00% MSIE 6.0
20.00% Firefox 1.0.7
10.00% Firefox 1.5
9.00% Firefox 1.0.6
9.00% Firefox 1.4
8.00% Mozilla 5.0
5.00% Safari 1.2
3.00% Opera 8.51
1.00% Firefox 0.10.
1.00% Firefox 0.9.2
1.00% Firefox 1.0+
1.00% Firefox 1.0.4
That's, um, less than a 3rd of visitors still using Internet Exploder. Either we have a particularly well informed readership, or M$ is losing...

It probably just means that you and me go there more than anybody else. Otherwise I'd be surprised if 10% of our visitors really are using Firefox 1.5, considering it's only been out a couple of weeks...

But even so, quite impressive. Well done Not Little England readership!

I get the feeling that the 3%of Opera users might be me.

1.5 is me.

The fact that I was ticking off the days until it came out and downloaded the source code just as soon as I got home fom work the day it came out has nothing to do with it...

I'll have been there on a previous version of Firefox and IE whilst at work.

And now I've probably gone and confused the stat counter by going there in Links :-)

I just downloaded firefox out of curiosity after you recommended it. I have enjoyed it more than MSIE, though, so it's become my default browser now.

Curse you...

:)

What time span is 100 views? And how many unique visitors?

Guild website gets 86% MSIE, and that's even taking into account that my development work on the site accounts for up to 2% of all the traffic (that's a lot of refreshes a day) which is all Firefox bar the occasional compatability test.
