Life with SB

So, most of you will have noticed that since moving in with Miss Spammy Pants I'm posting a lot less, but she's still posting lots. Now, of course, any good blogger gives away a fair bit of themselves in the persona that they blog with, but it's not the whole picture. So I thought some of you might like to know other aspects of what she's like.

Well, those of you that know me know that, well, mornings? Not really my thing. At all. Never thought I'd ever meet someone palpably worse than me. Until I moved in with her.

Y'see, today, we were due to go leaflet delivering; the Brighouse Lib Dems Action Day. Now, I hate leaflet delivering; party members that have read the Bones Report will have read of comments like leaflet delivery cult. I've no idea where I picked it up from, but that was certainly in my submission, and I suspect many others. I know it's needed, I know we need to do it, I know it's a general benefit (not just to the party, but to the area, I got many thanks from people today), but I hate it. But with others? It's better; bearable. Someone to chat to, bounce off, etc.

So we decided, as a branch, to organise a day when we could all get together and do a patch as a team. It was suggested we do it this morning, but someone suggested we start at midday, with the chance that she'd be able to get out of bed in time. You don't need to be told what actually happened this morning, right?

She did actually mange to eventually finish the LC Netcast, and get the dogs around the park, and ring me to meet up. What time did she ring me (bearing in mind, midday start=her idea)? 2pm. Go Jennie. We'd finished all the leaflets by then, and Hilary had to go home. Best bit? When she rang me, it was also to say she was locked out of the house.

Because she'd taken the dogs around the park, but was so used to not needing keys she didn't pick hers up. So, she came to meet me, and we went to the pub (partially to confirm the room for Thursdays Liberal Drinks). About an hour or so later, we got back. I got my keys out my pocket, walked up the steps, and put them in the lock. There was no resistance as they turned. We have a Yale lock. Yup, you're right.

The door was on the latch

She could've got into the house after the dog walking. We'd left the house unlocked for the best part of two hours.

It's a good job we live opposite the police station in a street that screams poverty methinks.

Love you darlin.

It must be a miracle that Holly gets to school before lunchtime! Somebody worse than you at mornings, shocked and amazed does not even come close.

Mornings are a fun game of "more knackered than thou" where we both moan and groan in theatrical attempts to persuade the other to get up. I suspect that if it was on webcam, it'd be hilarious to all watching.

I can so relate to this as I too have been late for Action Days after deliberately shifting the time later so I figured I'd be out of bed. However, (shines halo), I don't usually miss them altogether. Naughty Miss Spammy Pants.

Incidentally, I think most Lib Dem members have seen through the term "Action Day" and realise that except in a few glorious areas with full delivery networks, it is a euphemism for delivering leaflets. Maybe we could come up with a new term to attract the unwary...
