Devon pubs stay open when Yorkshire pubs give up

Last year, Yorkshire was hit by major flooding, and several decent pubs were forced to close. The pub just down the canal from Jennie's was shut for 9 months afterwards.

This year, the town closest to where my parents come from has been flooded. But the people of Kingsbridge didn't let that bother them:

Now, there's a reason my parents left that area. There's a reason I left Devon. You're right, they probably had nothing better to do at all. But even so. Devon pubs stay open even when flooded.

Oh yeah, the accents in that video? Sound so very like the bits of my family that still live around there. I may have a Devonshire accent, but it's not that broad.

You mean ONE CRAP PUB was forced to close, and that was because the cellar was flooded and the beer was contaminated?

The reason it didn't open again soon afterwards being that they sacked the landlord, and then couldn't get anyone else to take the pub on, because it was such a crap pub.

But, you know, don't let facts get in the way of anti-Yorksher racism :P

Nah, Kingsbridge is where they're both from (well, South Pool and Slapton), they traded up to Marldon then Churston, where I reckon they'll be for ages. Well, at least until Dad finishes the DIY projects, which'll never happen.

I get a lot of spam, and this looks like a spam comment or a spam request, thus I'm screening your comment. If you're serious about this, you need a better explanation of what's going on within your comment, and preferably link to a post of yours with links to the survey and explanation why as well. Yes, that´s a marketing web site. SRI is the owner of the VALS survey, and if you want to use it, you either buy the license to use their software or use the free trial on their page.

Since I don´t have the money to buy the software, I´m asking people to take the free trial questionnaire and tell me what was their result.

I´m using the VALS test as part of my research to understand what kind of consumers are the LJ users and why they think advertisement within LJ is good or bad.

And yes, I´m technically spamming since I´m asking a lot of people to take this test. I need a big sample to get reliable results.
