• Discussing the likely Ed and Nick show next year
  Odds are, having most of the Labour leadership campaigning along a lot of senior Lib Dems will do a lot to mend wounds and similar. This will, naturally, be a good thing. I seem to recall talk that the EEC referendum that put the sane Labour members campaigning alongside the Liberals helped foster the bonds that eventually led to the Alliance. Given the personal rapport that already existed between Steel and Jenkins, not sure I'm sold on that completely, but anyone got a source or extra info on that?

• Sometimes the Mainstream Media Really Amuse me.
  Jennie is amused by reactions to the idea that the LDs don't always agree, and this therefore necessitates a split. The idea that a Liberal party agrees on everything all the time is so laughable it's silly. But then, this is the mainstream media.

• Advice to new (and old) bloggers
  Some very good points on this list, most of which I agree with and try to implement on my blog(s) when possible in some form. Completely disagree with point 6 though, for reasons I've outlined in the comments, but that is an issue that for most just doesn't cross the radar, and I'm aware some find dark backgrounds harder to read, need to make my link to the alt layout more accessible and clearer. Ideas how I should label it very welcome.

Ctrl+Option+Apple+8 puts the screen into reverse video on Macs.

There's something similar for Linux (may need to be enabled explicitly, don't think the key combo is standardised) and presumably for Windows too (presumably hiding under accessibility options).

This seems a better way of solving the problem than individual websites having to worry about it.

Ah, OK, had no idea that was even an option. It's a very little known one if it is a Windows feature, I shall have to do some digging.

I don't *know* that Windows can do it, but Windows is good at accessibility generally, so I'd be surprised if it can't.

Can't find it, anywhere, including going through GodMode, so it looks like Win7 doesn't have it. I will dig deeper later though, as it could be a very useful solution (Jennie gets much worse headaches than me after a much shorter time)

Well, for a given definition. It has confirmed I never want to be in a situation where screen magnification is important, the interface is terrible.

It does do the job, but not in a way I'd want to recommend to people as an easy answer.

I wonder why the Mac has it nice and easy but Windows doesn't seem to have it anywhere useful. Ah well.
