Firefly, again.

Quick one, for the Firefly fans, again, from [livejournal.com profile] theweaselking Serenity by puppets. John, there was a time when I had time to look for cool stuff online, these days reading the cool stuff you find takes all my spare time.

Ah well. Civ2 update: King mode, it's 1871, I'm 2nd largest behind someone I haven't found yet. Hmm...

Having been unable to find my civ3 disc, I actually whooped out Civ2:Test of Time recently. It's like normal civ2, but with one big change: The game supports multiple maps. This means that after you send your little ship off to the other world.. you actually start habitating it.

It also has three other types of games to play: Fantasy, Sci fi, and Midgard.

Fantasy: Midgaard setting, with 4 'maps'. One is the underworld (Caves, etc) one is the sky world (Cloud land) and one is the Undersea world (in the oceans). (The last is normal land). Each civ you choose has actual different units. The Buteos have lying units that can go up to cloud land and back down (Good for ambushing cities) for instance.

Sci Fi: You start on the planet Funestis, having been spaceshipwrecked there. As you speedily go through the beginning of civilization again, you end up going into Orbit, and two completely other planets (One of which is INCREDIBLY fertile and abundant). Play this one on a small map, imo, or you will take forever to finish the game.

Midgard: Uses roughly the same rule set as Fantasy, but this is a specific Scenario, where stuff happens. Kill dragon's, bribe Dwarves to your service, and raid underground layers, all under the warbanner of your Hero unit. It's a good bit of fun, and EXCELLENT for multiplayer, if that floats your boat.

Is it possible you are playing the extended version, and they are on the OTHER map?
