Monoculture & SOCPA

The odds of [livejournal.com profile] draxar and [livejournal.com profile] dainul not having noticed this already are small, but just in case, warrenellis.com » Blog Archive » TRANSMETROPOLITAN: Monoculture.

Yup, my mates design project just got picked up by [livejournal.com profile] warrenellis, who seems happy to see is. Külness. Well done Mr Pink.

Actually, might as well post these rather than mailing you. [livejournal.com profile] d_notice_fd moved to London just before I did, I'd been reading his blog for ages before that, and he's ended up living around the corner. He writes a lot about SOCPA, and attended the All-day Lone Protest, his Flickr photostream has stuff, and I especially like this placard...

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] snapesbabe links to this petition and has more links and info.

True.

I was actually thinking of doing one or two V for vendetta speeches - the multi-V introduction, and/or the 'there's something very wrong with our country' speech. I suppose a slightly adjusted version of the second one could work for SoCPA:

Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission.

If you can find me a decent speech that relates to the issue, or can be taken to do so (i.e. appropriate old speeches about freedom), then I can probably do something from that.

True. Then again, doing V and something else is always a possibility, depending on how much time I have and how polished the finished product needs to be.
