I, am not sober...

Got talked into going on the annual work boat trip (witha attached bar). Apparently you can't call the booze cruises any more, because someone decided that that was "encouraging binge drinking". Right, like Torquay harbourside is normally full of sober people.

Anyway, it was good. I'm a little drunk. Decided to leave before the rest went to the club as a) I hate nightclubs generally, b) Valbonnes is a really bad club c) I was happy, so leave on a high and d) meh, tired.

So, I am not sober, but am happy, and really must remember how good the bay looks at night from a boat, I keep forgetting. Probably ought to go out on the water more often, it's been ages since I went sailing or rowing, which is a bit daft really. Anyway...

Exeter people? Warning...

They let [livejournal.com profile] waka_laka in. Actually, given how crazy you all are, she'll fit in fine. Katie? http://xnet.ex.ac.uk/forums/

Haven't been there much for ages, but they're still pretty good, especially at this time of year. There are a few communities in my u-info worth a look at as well.

For serious, you make me out to be some sort of headcase :P

But I think everyone else went out to Valbonnes tonight. Maybe you saw them drunkenly cavorting around (with about half my year, I'd imagine)

I was actually wondering about that. I think I'd be too chicken to start one up myself but I hope someone else does, I can't live without my anime fangirling :O

Aahah, I see :D

To be fair, it's not that hard to set something up. When you get 10-12,000 people together there's a lot of people interested in any given thing.

Xnet forums are probably your best bet, there's prolly enough people interested there you could set the ball rolling and hopefully have someone with organisational skill bring people together.

Eleven pages. Precisely zilch organised. Partially my fault.

"I think someone set up an anime/manga thing a few years back, not sure if it's still going."

No, there was always just talk of setting one up, but no one got organised enough to actually start it.

Unless people just didn't tell me and did it all in secret...

For a while NetGamer effectively ran one, with the anime fans there occasionally using the Lemmy projector to watch stuff, but I don't know if that has fallen apart now.

If you weren't a headcase, you wouldn't fit in. Well not with us nuts.

What'cha going to be studying?

[identity profile] waka-laka.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's kinda comforting. I think.

Psychology :D

[identity profile] dainul.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Have fun. With any luck Mark (Mapp here) might even graduate with a Psychology degree next year. He will have been going to Uni for six years. He hasn't failed a year. I've had to start a PhD to manage to still be a student.

Depending on your particular kinks, I may or may not see you in a couple of months, but have fun anyway.

Indeed. Sometimes I start to feel a bit old. Then I remember Matt :p

Nice work, admiral. Way to inspire the troops. o.o

And you'll probably see me around at some point, I have really really big hair.

[identity profile] dainul.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
What? He should be used to us mocking him by now.

Perhaps. I spend most of my time up in the air-con unit... err, physics building, so dunno.

Hmm... I need to get sheared at some point. The mop's getting far too thick.

I am obeying your rules and telling you I have added you to my friends list. I came via Tyrell in an attack of nepotism because you said you liked TheSlant. And your journal is funny.

And this "Shame I can barely change lightbulbs, the oil in my car, pay bills, etc. If it's anything remotely practical, don't ask me." Was in your profile.

I know your pain.

Small world

Just wondered over to your via metaquotes, saw my sister's commenting there, then came back here to a friend's journal and ran into you again.

Damn incestuous gothic social circles :p

I'm omnipresent at the moment, or so it seems.

grr... wondered -> wandered
your -> yours

Cosnidering how pedantic I am about such things, I really should proof-read more carefully.

I think you're safe from implosion. Though it is possible I do know Suzie but not her name as I'm a little bit useless when it comes to names.

It's probably best you didn't read my journal, its stand out quality is its lack of content.

Yes, Valbonnes is a terrible club. Plus, it would've been even worse for you last night, since the entire year 13 of every secondary school in the area was in there...it was far far too crowded, and ridiculously hot. I don't understand why Venue didn't open like last year. But I still kinda enjoyed it..

[identity profile] springhazsprung.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yus, I saw them. There were quite a lot of them...

Thank you ^__^ I'm really so relieved/happy I got in..
