On [livejournal.com profile] boingboing, Cory reviews Gaiman's new film, Mirrormask. Which, let's face it, most of us were going to go see anyway.
I want to see this one again, and again.
Look, it's a Gaiman written film, we were going anyway.
I haven't seen a film as lovely as this since Brazil.
Alright already, you sold us, we're all going!
I haven't seen a film as enchanting since The Princess Bride.
Um, when's it out over here, and can I reserve a seat now?

Worth a read anyway, the stills look great.

In other, personal news, the PC crashed last night on shut down and now Thunderbird has lost all its settings and all my emails. Fortunately, it's only the last 2 weeks, but some of them were emails I wanted to keep damnit! Not getting anywhere in restoring it, or finding the files; any suggestions appreciated.

Well, I've been reading reviews. I'm trying to avoid spoilers, apparently something big happens, no idea what, but, well, I'll find out when it's release. Hmm... [livejournal.com profile] paulatpingu? Orson Scott Card thinks it's the best Sci-Fi movie ever
So here's what I have to say about Serenity:

This is the kind of movie that I have always intended Ender's Game to be (though the plots are not at all similar).

And this is as good a movie as I always hoped Ender's Game would be.

And I'll tell you this right now: If Ender's Game can't be this kind of movie, and this good a movie, then I want it never to be made.

I'd rather just watch Serenity again.
I don't think you can get a better endorsement than that.
ctrl+alt+del also likes it
It's been rumored that Joss Whedon's master plan includes a trilogy of these movies. If that is the case, I will be there, on opening day, money in hand, for every single one of them.

In other, completely unrelated observations, LJ is great for so many reasons; one of them is the reminder of great music you haven't listened to for ages; many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll for reminding me of the greatness that is Skunk Anansie's first album.
