Revenge of the Sith is one of the worst movies I've seen recently. It's Battlefield Earth bad.

Well, that sort of put me off bothering completely, I still haven't watched Clowns, so unless someone I trust strongly recommends Ep III to me I'll likely not bother.

Anyone seen it that thinks I ought to go see?

Episode II was alright. Not awesome, but it had some fun moments. The people who bitch hardest about the new Star Wars films are the same people who go on about how much better children's TV was when they were a kid than it is now. (Who the fuck has the time to watch kids TV, anyway?)

They seem to have forgotten the fact that they've grown more discerning as adults, and swathe their memories of the popular culture of their childhood in sickly nostalgia.

"Phantom" & "Clones" don't seem as good as "Empire" & "Return" because you're no longer seven years old.

Right, rant over: I liked AoTC, and I suspect I'll like RoTS. I don't expect much more than a pile of lightsaber fights, flashy special effects and Natalie Portman being fit but failing to act, but I don't care. If I wanted something with clever scripting and a good plot, I'd watch something highbrow - but from a Star Wars film, I just want to see Yoda kick some arse.

Bugger it, I'm ranting again.
