I thought it was grating, and the character definitely not something I want to watch a comedy around. then she swtiched into the spiel, and showed she has got a bit of range.

It's possible, just possible, that Donna might be bearable. Not good, merely not awful. Which is a step up, surely?

To me, perfectly understandable, but bear in mind she's deliberately sounding like a blithering idiot, it may be you're not understanding some of the words that are'nt really words—she's 'famous' for her "am I bovvered" catchphrase, where bovvered=bothered, in case you didn't know.

Oh sweet jesus - no, I managed 3 minutes of that, which to be fair is the longest I've ever been able to tolerate the Tate, but no. Come back Bonnie Langford, all is forgiven.

It's actually the second half that 'nearly' makes it—she just reams off the sonnet, word perfect, but in that annoying character. Well done, but still annoying.

Then he zaps her with the screwdriver. They work well together on screen it seems, although I'm still not impressed by the choice.

It was the point where she said 'am-est I bovvered?' that my tolerance was stretched beyond breaking point. I just hate her face. And her voice. And her acting.

Did I mention that I'm going to be the next Doctor Who? The BBC don't know it yet, but a lot of comedy club audiences seem to think it's a good idea. We'll get Billie Piper back when I take over. Her career will have floundered and I'll save her from pantomime!

Yup, I got that far and then had to turn off too. I simply can't stand her.

They do seem to bounce off each other ok, but I don't think she's a good actress (shouting != acting), I don't find her funny, and she bugs the shit out of me. Not ideal. She really would have been my last choice to play his assistant, TBH. And that's not hyperbole.

Plus it seems like a wasted opportunity; the role should really go to someone who hasn't already got an established career, to my mind.

That, I pretty much agree with. Note that I'm not expecting her to be good, or to like her, I'm merely wondering if she might manage to not be Worst Companion Ever.
