My dream home is?
2007-Sep-28, Friday 12:20Hmm, this is kinda cool:
Another reason I sort of approve? It's a legitimate SEO job, and the quiz is on topic for what they're trying to promote their site for. I sort of disapprove for the same reasons, because a chunk of people will post the quiz and thus tell Google this site is good for 'dream home' search results, but it's a choice, and it's not comment spam or similar.
Plus, whatever software they used to parse the test is actually pretty good, I like the way it generated sub options depending on main choices.

There's a Chocolatessen, which is rapidly becoming your favorite room of the house. Yes please. And I'm really liking the look of the library. Weird I got a pegasus but Sam got an X-wing.

Your home also includes a roost for griffons. You've never actually seen a griffon, but you keep the roost ready anyway. Your guests enjoy your home theater with hi-def plasma screen TV, and the thrones you watch it from. Outside is the moat that protects your home from goblin invaders and extended family.
And, you have a pet -- a unicorn named "Shadowhooves".
Below is a snippet of the blueprints:

and the link text is:
Build YOUR Dream Home!
Google works by looking at links and what they say, links are votes, link text is a description. Every time someone posts this quiz (publicly), Google can read that as a vote for that site being dream home related, or indeed a combination of find, dream and home. Given that those words are also in the URL, the site will start scoring quite highly for or searches as well.
All parts of the site as well, inbound links to a sub page also help the homepage, etc.
Essentially, if I were doing a company website, and wanted a cheap, effective search strategy, this is exactly what I'd do, I have in fact recommended it to a previous employer at one point.
So these guys know what they're doing, and may be a legitimate outfit as well, although I only gave the rest of their site a quick once-over.
