Seriously. Open this link in a new window, DO NOT open it in a tab.

There now follows a poll.
[Poll #1070622]
See, I'm nice. I followed the link with no warning at all.

That was fun. The guy let himself down with the little "OK" button clicky things though. What you really want to do is have a "Go through all this bollocks again?" message with the OK button in the same place, so idiots clicking all the way through them without paying attention get tricked. Schoolboy.

I thought it was only Americans that Rick-Rolled people? Mat, I hate you :-)

My tech-fu was clicking through the lyrics double fast and getting rid of the damn thing the natural way. But rest assured I will no longer click on any link you present me just in case...

A domestic scene:

The nice-enough music Andrew was playing was just interrupted by noise so loud I couldn't even tell for a while that it was supposed to be a song, much less a song I recognize (only because I've seen Bill Hicks's rant about Rick Astley). Over the din I could barely hear Andrew shouting "I didn't really expect it to be the most annoying link in the world, but it is!"

"You're so stupid!" I shouted. "I looked at that and thought 'Oh, most annoying thing in the world? I don't want to go anywhere near that!' So I didn't."

It went on for a long time. Well, probably not that long, but you know how two minutes sitting on a hot stove is much longer than two hours with a pretty girl. "Let me guess," I said. "Now you can't get it to stop."

"Yeah!" he said.

"YOU ARE SO STUPID!"

I clicked on it even though both you and SB warned me off. Human curiosity and all that.

When I saw it wasn't going to let me close the window when I tried the first time and received some random message, I went up to the bar at the top and quit Firefox. It only closed that window and the window I had LJ on as that's all I had open in Firefox. My guess is that whatever makes it uncloseable is a DOS (PC) based and not OS X (Mac.)

Well, I lol'd.

But I also moaned at the Vista ctrl-alt-del. It doesn't open task manager, it opens 'security options' from which you have to select the task manager.

This caused Rick Astley to continue singing over Daft Punk for much longer than necessary.

Haaaahahahahah 80s cheese! I got through it by gnawing my leg off. Well, I say my leg, it was practically mine anyway. At least, it was on my property. And I'm sure the man didn't need it.

Its muted and been shoved onto my other desktop. I think the reason Macs are immune is that the menus remain active even with a dialogue. Ubuntu isn't so good

Firefox "quit unexpectedly" for which I'm infinitely grateful.

What happens if you open it in a tab?

Have NoScript installed. Opened it in a new tab, listened to ten seconds, closed the tab.

It's very handy, is noscript.

Having NoScript as a blacklist rather than a whitelist might be handy - but I originally installed it to stop rogue sites hax0ring my machine, which that wouldn't help with...

Whatever sick fuck devised that should be hunted down and forcible buggered by a psychotic gorilla.

And YOU sir, should be ashamed of yourself for bringing it to the attention of poor unsuspecting souls like me. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem!
