That was fun. The guy let himself down with the little "OK" button clicky things though. What you really want to do is have a "Go through all this bollocks again?" message with the OK button in the same place, so idiots clicking all the way through them without paying attention get tricked. The nice-enough music Andrew was playing was just interrupted by noise so loud I couldn't even tell for a while that it was supposed to be a song, much less a song I recognize (only because I've seen Bill Hicks's rant about Rick Astley). Over the din I could barely hear Andrew shouting "I didn't really expect it to be the most annoying link in the world, but it is!"

"You're so stupid!" I shouted. "I looked at that and thought 'Oh, most annoying thing in the world? I don't want to go anywhere near that!' So I didn't."

It went on for a long time. Well, probably not that long, but you know how two minutes sitting on a hot stove is much longer than two hours with a pretty girl. "Let me guess," I said. "Now you can't get it to stop."

"Yeah!" he said.

"YOU ARE SO STUPID!"

I clicked on it even though both you and SB warned me off. Human curiosity and all that.

When I saw it wasn't going to let me close the window when I tried the first time and received some random message, I went up to the bar at the top and quit Firefox. It only closed that window and the window I had LJ on as that's all I had open in Firefox. My guess is that whatever makes it uncloseable is a DOS (PC) based and not OS X (Mac.)

That's what it appears to be—the Andrew that Holly mentions in the above thread should know enough to kill it—for me, the 'error' messages prevented me from getting to any other functions in that window.

SB clicked through, it goes through the whole lyrics to the song. She went through them twice...

But I also moaned at the Vista ctrl-alt-del. It doesn't open task manager, it opens 'security options' from which you have to select the task manager.

This caused Rick Astley to continue singing over Daft Punk for much longer than necessary.

The error report would take priority on the screen, and not let you close the window or tab.

Maybe you didn't get the 'error' messages or had JS turned off?

When you try to close it, you get repeated messages quoting the lyrics. You can't switch away to a different tab, you can't close the tab.

Hence my annoyance. Plus I managed to restore session twice so I had to go through it several times. Apparently Macs handle things better.

I opened it in another window 'cos, well, I trusted you. Yes, I had to use the tast manager to kill it but forunately firefox let me restore the other tabs I was browsing so I could at least come back to your journal to call you a ****! :-p

If it makes you feel better, I restored and had it come back becasue I had it in the same tab.

I then forgot what the problem was, and had to kill it again....
