  • 14:12 leaving London and thus no longer a Londoner. And no longer a car owner either. Goodbye Peaugeot, rust in peace #
  • 14:39 amused at the tomtom. When it says 'ahead, keep right' it means don't take the junction, stay on the motorway, you're stuck on it for ag ... #
  • 16:34 entering Nottinghamshire and wondering why they've got a sign saying Robin Hood County when his grave is just outside Brighouse. #

Look, it's better than me texting LJ directly when I'm bored, right? Plus, y'know, microblogging, it's all the rage donchaknow. LoudTwitter

Nottinghamshire is Robin Hood County because of the city of Nottingham being in it and Sherwood Forest being mostly in it.

And I thought people usually left their cars behind when they moved to London...

What Mat said. Of the three real men that most academics believe that Robin was based on, Two were Yorkshiremen, and one of them is buried not half a mile from where I sit.

Welcome to Yorksher. Speaking as a Southerner who moved up here almost two and a half years ago, I'm sure you'll find the attitudes of Yorksher folk infinitely better than those further South. People have more time for you up here, and a lot of stuff is generally cheaper, cf Greggs the bakers. A chesse & onion pasty costs over £1 in London, but the same is around 68p up here. What's not to like? :D I'm sure you and SB will get on famously, and I wish you both at least as much happiness as I share with SG.
