Here's the result from Weybridge South ward, Elmbridge DC, Surrey, on 1st May this year...

Glenn Dearlove (Conservative) 679
Kelvin MacKenzie (Independent) 227
Matt Barr (Liberal Democrats) 192

You may notice I've been very quiet all day. There I am, away from the 'puter and when I get home all hell has broken loose politically and my brains are broken. FWIW if I was living in Haltemprice & Howden chances are my paper would be spoilt; great speech though Davis's was today, the small matter of him being a pro-hanging 'n' flogging homophobe does tend to alienate me to put it mildly. That said, if Labour were to stand they wouldn't be an option at any cost either. I can see where Clegg is coming from on this but for me it's impossible to actively back DD. Rather him than MacKenzie though.

BTW, Howden railway station is a heck of a hike from that town, pleasant place though it is to visit (Howden Minster is one of my favourite buildings in Yorkshire). If you want to actively campaign against McScum, it would be easier to go to Hull instead and try places like Willerby or Kirk Ella, which are on the outskirts of the city but part of H&H rather than a Hull seat.
