Dole did run attack ads, but I think it has more to do with her strong Republican ties that did it, not the attack ads.

NC has lost a LOT of jobs in recent years and the state has several military bases with National Guard and Full Time military getting hit hard by Iraq. I think these two issues are the reason, not the attack ads.

I am personally a military brat, and while I support our troops in there efforts... they are doing the job they were given, I do NOT agree with the Republican foreign policies.

What really nailed the coffin shut was the recent issues with the Banks. Charlotte is the second largest banking center in the US, right behind NY. A large number of people lost jobs and homes with the recent bubble burst which followed years of textile jobs being sent overseas. This is the real issue with Dole. Lose of jobs without attempts to provide alternative options.

Granted... the attack ads didn't help my opinion. Seriously, can we leave religion out of it already? Yes, it's the South, but it's the New South... grow up and stop picking on people for their beliefs. (( Hayes does deny it though and claims to be a christian. *shrug* ))
