Well, after installing FireFox, realising you haven't got a modem, buying one, trying to figure out how to stop it treating you like an idiot and sorting your bookmarks out?

Get a new desktop wallpaper so it doesn't look ugly of course.

Shiny new box. Quiet too, the old one was loud all the time, probably because I was overloading it. Now that I can do what I want, I'm so used to doing nothing that the temptation just isn't there. Story of my life really.

OTOH, Warcraft III is in my pile of "games I bought but didn't quite have the spec for", as is Medieval Total War. Hmmm...

Must. Resist.

It's on the list of things to think about.

I actually nearly set it to download, but resisted on the grounds I want the phone line in a bit for something else. I'd probably want something like Trillian anyway.

However, it's now likely to happen. Just not going to give out the contact details to anyone except those I want to start talking to online. Random Americans asking rules questions chased me off AOL, and IRC annoyed me for similar reasons when I tried that...

That's generally what I do- and with MSN 7.0 you can log in as Appear Offline, and other handy features.

...whereas I'm thinking of getting the Rome Total War + Barbarian invaders double-pack for 15 quid after I inherited a PC (the old user moved to a laptop, which she is very happy with because she can now be online and on sofa).

Given that this PC could actually run Rome, I suspect me ability to get anything whatsoever done inthe next few months has plummetted.

Sod the modem, get an Adsl connection, it'll probably work out cheaper in the end

and as for games that will rule your life
medival total war is cool
but age of empires III just came out!
