Well, at least they're finally off...

So, we have lined up the most messed up and dull campaign I can remember. The two main parties throwing insults and belittling each other while hoping no one really notices that they're so similar you can't really tell them apart. The LibDems (ie us) trying to get noticed while not getting involved too much in the petty spats and trying to figure where they can win and how.

So, I'll give it a little bit before I renew the TV licence; if I don't, anyone care to volunteer me a sofa seat to watch Mr Snow on election night?

Assuming of course I don't spend it at a count somewhere, I booked the day plus before and after off work today. If nothing else, I'll watch the results as they all come in.

Odd on Michael Howard keeping his seat are amusing to watch :-D

In other news, I've got heavily back in to Warhammer and 40K recently, and have lost interest in CCGs for a bit. So far I'm not doing well on the winning stakes, but that'll improve.

I do like the current 40K rules, I especially like the compressed copy of them in the Macragge box, very handy.

Beyond that, been working a lot; very succesful in hitting targets, etc, but the old boss is still trying to poison everything; she's convinced my approach is completely wrong. Doesn't seem to understand that using maths, statistics and predictions based on established patterns is a better method than gut instinct and shouting at people. Ah well.

Nothing to note on the whole getting a girlfriend thing; haven't actually put any effort in, although I'm seeing/speaking to Lou a lot. Something might happen if I ever get around to asking I guess...

Yes, you do do 40k don't you, I remember dicussing having a game with you about a year ago. What army do you collect again?
Anyway, consider me forever willing to lay waste to lesser beings.

Armies

For 40K, I have Orks, Tau, Eldar and bits of a few others. I prefer the Tau currently, as 4th Ed has really strengthened them. I'm waiting until the new Codex to dig the Eldar back out and the Orks were always my fun army.

Not sure how inclined I am to travel too much to play, but a game at some point is definately a plan...

The Tau do really need an update... currently due to the lack of support for their squads they are really inflexible, sure the battlesuits are totally badass but they aren't suitable for plain fire support thanks to their jump packs. Really Fire Warriors need to be able to attach support drones (armed with suit weapons, say burst cannon or plasma guns) to their squads.
Eldar seem fairly good in current rules although they have been screwed on the whole shuriken catapult issue.
Hm, you interested in doing a big game? You saw some of the battle between myself and Laurence almost a year ago now. Not something to do regularly, but I like getting the whole army out occasionally. I can probably put together about 5-6000 points whilst still being reasonably balanced.
