Ottery St Mary tomorrow?

Oh yeah, forgot. Given that Shaks, Raks, Will, Beef and Jim can't organise a piss up in a brewery, anyone fancy going to Ottery tomorrow instead?

For some reason, I never went to it when I lived up there and, well, it looks so insanely stupid that I just have to see it at least once.  I mean, for once, I'm not even going to complain about the bloody awful burning effect on the website.  Bloody stupid frameset, yes, but, y'know, it hasn't been updated for 6 years...

So, anyone up for going?  Have car, will travel...

Also?  Firefox users?  Forget about bloody Semagic.  Deepest Sender, it's a plugin, you can integrate it into your context menu and toolbar, so you never need go to the update page again.  And the image insert function encourages good coding practice.  Yay!

Mmmm. That's just reminded me of one of my closest friends from a few years ago, whom I love deeply, and who isn't able to keep in contact for a variety of personal reasons.

Probably not the most helpful response I could have written. I'll just sit here and be self-absorbed and melancholy. (Self-absorbed and melancholy? On LiveJournal? Gosh. - Ed.) Hush you.

His personal reasons, not mine, and not (as far as I know) related to me specifically. A variety of previous mental health issues could, I guess, make talking to me difficult for him (having been the person on the other end of the phone 200 miles away, wanting to go to bits myself while trying to talk him through things), though it's gradually become more generally difficult for him to involve people in his life via phones/the Internet.

As my name's branded on this post, I would like to come too. It looks like you may need find out a few other things before something can be finalised. While it will probably no doubt complicate things, cars could be provided by other people if they are interested.

As I write most of my entries on my computer, I tend to use Semagic over the update page nearly all the time. Deepest Sender looks more lightweight but could lack a few more proprietary features of LJ that Semagic has. I'll give it a go though.

Aye, Deepest Sender is lightweight, but as it's a plug in you don't need to load it. If I want to post a link or write an article based on a page, I can just highlight the text and right click there's an option to boot it up and it's all there in DS when you've logged in.

That and full Wordpress support means I can have mucho fun posting to various places easily. Semagic being a separate app has advantages, but the lack of integration means I just don't use it, or remember to.

I've been twice, last year and the year before.
It is INSANE the number of people ther. last year my jeans were the only casualty among the group I went with, they got minorly torn.
Get there as early as you can so you can see the earlier barrels and not get so caught in the crush of people later on. Then go to the funfair and have too much sugar or something, and go back for the crush if you feel brave.
It's a fantastic night, got some pics here: here and here.
I wish I could go this year, but alas I am stuck in cov. Next year though, I plan to make bloody sure I'm in Exeter for it :)

It was mostly the whole thing that everyone was blaming you and no one had organised it.

Not at all meant in a nasty way, more a take the piss way. Thx for assist Sat, and next year, we get multiple cars and/or book a minibus, it'd make a great group day out I think.

But yeah, that the employed people get blamed for not having time to do stuff is a little daft...
