Slashdot: "It's Battlefield Earth bad..."

Revenge of the Sith is one of the worst movies I've seen recently. It's Battlefield Earth bad.

Well, that sort of put me off bothering completely, I still haven't watched Clowns, so unless someone I trust strongly recommends Ep III to me I'll likely not bother.

Anyone seen it that thinks I ought to go see?

I'm surprised at you relying on a review, Mat. I would have thought if the film held enough interest for you to go searching out reviews and to make this post on LJ, then it was worth going to check out for yourself.

Myself? Well, on my friends page I've been told that it's fantastically awesome, that it's excruciatingly terrible, and most of the shades of grey inbetween. A lot of the allegedly professional reviews I've read replicate this ambivalence. So, I don't know what to think. But I hate being told what to think by reviwers anyway, so I'm hoping to see the film, and to decide for myself, sometime this week.

See, that's the problem. I'm attacked with apathy when it comes to Star Wars; part of me feels I ought to care about it, but I really don't, but am trying to persuade myself otherwise.

I'm not relying on a review, I'm sort of looking for something to inspire me into caring. Barry's right, I've grown up, and I just don't care as much as my nostalgia thinks I ought to.

The post was mostly inspired because the quote made me actually laugh, so I wanted to share it; if you haven't watched Battlefield Earth yet, or read the book, try to do so. Both are truly awful in implementation, despite the basic premise being fairly good.

I wathced Battlefield Earth recently, and it truly is the worst film I've ever watched (well, out of those actually trying). Hence the wanting to share the quote.

Your choice. You could paas on an observation to Barry that I'm trying to help Mark through the depression he's so blatently suffering from, and think him having a very visible project that he can work through that requires him leaving the house may be useful for him. I'd have thought you'd have noticed the obvious symptoms. ah well; your choices in life are your own.
