Ah right. I guess the games that I saw at Gamesoc and that I associate my housemates with seemed a bit complicated to get my head around. (I regard Monopoly as difficult too)

Rule of thumb; Laurence should never be taken as a 'normal' example of any social group. If you put him in a room with crackpot lunatics, they'll want to dissasociate him.

I, personally, strongly like complex strategy games, but I rule at Scrabble, and picking up something like Carcassonne or Metro is easy.

Oh; Monopoly is only complicated if you try and read the rules first; me, I find the game too simple just because I ran a probability analysis of the game as part of GCSE coursework, it's a bit dull when you can tell who's going to win 1/4 way in...
