Me elsewhere: that awful Sky News interviewer

Finally got around to writing my first post on Liberal Conspiracy, pretty sure it'll appeal to innerbrat, daweaver and snapesbabe, as well as anyone else who was annoyed by that execrable Kay Burley interview.

I believe the fact that she works for Sky News means that she is, by definition, incompetent AND ignorant, and that her placement there is due to maliciousness. Not necessarily her maliciousness, but possibly.

That is of course a perfectly valid argument that I can find little fault with.

But anything that highlights how awful they are generally (there are times they're not awful and can be useful but they're rare) is probably worht the effort.

Agreed—it's what I intended voting taktix to be like when I first mooted getting lots of people (including you) on board, I was convinced that a large group blog with a purpose would be more effective than lots of individuals, it's looking like I was right. Sunny, of course, has more time for this sort of thing given his freelance ways...

Could never get on with bloglines, the interface annoyed me for no reason I could ever actually explain. But cool, it's variable, nature of the beast, but most of the content is good.

I find it works well for news sites where I want to read lots of headlines, as it keeps track of what I've read and what I haven't.

I use LJ for syndicating actual people.

I mean SRZLY, WTF? I actually think I'd have stabbed her in the face with whatever was lying at hand. She's obviously been fired for asking that question - no, wait, she hasn't, has she.

Bah, not that I ever do but I'm clearly never watching Sky News again...

Fortunately, Virgin customers no longer get Sky and thus have different channels, so we don't get the unwanted choice.

There was a comment in the thread there pointing out they just do commercially orientated ratings stuff, which is true—Fox News US is registered as an entertainment cchannel not a news channel for a reason after all.

Any chance you could do a post on LC explainign why in teh forthcoming London Elections voting Paddick as first choice and then Boris or ken as second is the way forward?

That's planned post three or four—I intend to do lots on electoral reform and thus electoral systems, that's my main focus, but they take serious effort and research and can be knocked apart more easily, so I need to put the effort in...
