The Cavern will never close. I visited it in the '70s.

The original cavern is on the other sid of the street uphill a little but. There's a plaque on the wall to commemerate and I think(although I may be imagining this) the last time I was there the council had erected a statue and some sort of wall of handprints??

it's not ezackly the same Cavern, apparently that was closed in '73, and a replica was built in 85 or 86 using much of the old building material and in mostly the same place. So it's SORTA the Cavern.

The Cavern is an awesome venue - I travelled down there a few years ago to do see Fish in concert and loved it.

Oh Fish and Marillion are my all-time loves. 26 years of love invested in them. In fact off to see him tonight in edinburgh!
There's two halls in the cavern if I remember correctly - the 'pub' at the front is done up to resemble the original, then off to the right hand side past the bar are entrances to Cavern 1 and Cavern 2. Very hot and sweaty for a concert though!
