So, Lj sets up a facility so you can, if you chose, list what school or university you went to. Not a bad plan, I like it. So do lots of other people.

Some people though, don't get the point. Did any of these people really study at Hogwarts? And I really doubt this lot are from the Unseen University.

I never got the point of advertising where you went to school, but then that probably has something to do with the fact that I absolutely hated every second of it, hated every person there, and leaving at 16 was the absolute best decision I ever made. I sure as hell wouldn't want anyone from school finding me on lj and trying to make contact. I am listed on friends reunited, but under my A-level college and nothing else, and that was simply because I was trying to track down someone who I had lost the phone number for (and it didn't work!)

Maybe the people who list things like Hogwarts and the unseen university are in the same boat as me - and simply want to add another level to their interest list. Just a thought. Personally I would like the option to remove the 'schools' category from my info list completely as it isn't something that I want to include in my personal information.

However, I am well aware that any mention of school leaves me reeling and bitter and that I am not in the majority on this one :)

I is well, and no, Ive never been good with ringing people, no idea why.

Things seem to be sorting themselves my end at least, wouldve liked to be able to talk about your end but, well, next time.

Youre probably right about the schools thing; I liked school for the most part, despite hating most of the people there, and I suspect I have friends from there out there I wouldnt mind getting back in touch with. University, obviously, is a bit different, but Im proud of the degree, even if the mark wasnt the best,and it was a conscious choice of mine at 24 to try to get it, so listig it is fine. Given its a new feature, odds are theyd consider making its display optional if you asked.

Gah! How can a pedant like me who likes to type informally deal witha broken apostrophe? It was working earlier, weird keyboard functions, I think Ive enables a shortcut...
