They're, um, a bit touchy these Chinese martial artists n'est ce pas?

The moral of this tale? Do not be insulting the good name of Kung Fu, for they're watching your anonymous posts on obscure internet forums and may get all legal on your arse...

There are no ninja. Ninja do not exist. They are mere peasant stories, superstitions, excuses. The ninja do not exist, they have never existed. We destroyed them all. They're all gone.

Just to be clear...

Well I was only kidding really, but it is a serious business for a lot of Chinese people.

For us it might be just something we see in "chop-socky" films, but China has several centuries of tradition tied up with it and it hepled protect their peasants from frequent invasions in the past.

It's a very important component of Chinese culture - most Chinese folk heroes are Kung-Fu masters (although the term "Kung Fu" itself is a fairly recent invention - Wushu is probably more accurate )so they tend to be a bit sensitive about it, hence this Shaolin vs Ninja business.
