They're, um, a bit touchy these Chinese martial artists n'est ce pas?

The moral of this tale? Do not be insulting the good name of Kung Fu, for they're watching your anonymous posts on obscure internet forums and may get all legal on your arse...

There are no ninja. Ninja do not exist. They are mere peasant stories, superstitions, excuses. The ninja do not exist, they have never existed. We destroyed them all. They're all gone.

Just to be clear...

Maybe if this happened more often, people would be less likely to post bullshit. Instead of passing on a FOF story as gospel truth, they'd try looking it up to make sure their facts are right.

Nah. It'll take more than that to fix Fox 'News."

Heh. It'd be difficult to put into words how insulting that is (even taking into account that talking untrue shit is the entire point of the internet, and they're crazy to get worked up at one lone user).

There are no ninjas, except the officially sanctioned ones (ie: Dr Hatsumi). I definitely don't have any belts in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, for example :)

Bwahaha! I just assumed it was an official Japanese government press release. They've been denying there are any Ninja clans for a while, and only pointing to the 'sanctioned' non-lethal training like Bujinkan. *coughbollockscough*

However, that card rules :)

Well I was only kidding really, but it is a serious business for a lot of Chinese people.

For us it might be just something we see in "chop-socky" films, but China has several centuries of tradition tied up with it and it hepled protect their peasants from frequent invasions in the past.

It's a very important component of Chinese culture - most Chinese folk heroes are Kung-Fu masters (although the term "Kung Fu" itself is a fairly recent invention - Wushu is probably more accurate )so they tend to be a bit sensitive about it, hence this Shaolin vs Ninja business.

I would so get China's phone directory and start apologizing to all of China, one person at a time - on the internets. A big list, with an individual apology to each and every one on them.
