Q:If there's a fault forcing diversion of all trains, do you tell drivers before they set out or AFTER you divert their train? :-(

In this case, it wasn't the train company's fault, it appears to have been Network Rail--the train manager was fuming, he found out by phoning in after they'd diverted the train.
