Philip Pullman, Lewis, Narnia and Aladdin
2005-Dec-01, Thursday 23:59Recently, the newspapers have been talking about C.S Lewis, because there is a new movie coming out, starring New Zealand and a computer. These articles become rather repetitive after a while.Have to admit I'm looking forward to that one a little; has it been a good year for film, or have I just got back into going to the cinema?
Anyway, above quote was from Lipstick on My Scholar, an analysis of Lewis's supposed sexism and his mistreatment of Susan. Long, but interesting, and amusing. Probably helps if you've read the books though.
In related news, given that Lewis is normally slated after a misquote from Pullman, an adaptation of his Aladin is on at the Bristol Old Vic from Saturday until the end of January. I'm liking Pullman a lot; anyone else interested in going?
