Hmm, let's look up the term satire:

“witty language used to convey insults or scorn; "he used sarcasm to upset his opponent"”

Either way, I think I did a good job of turning the “satire” right back at them, don’t you?
Ah, no. No, you didn't. Although you have made me despair at the intelligence level of the human race; you can write a completely coherent sentence that makes no sense at all...

Swamped at work, as always, getting there, might be able to have a day off next week. Might even get the weekend off...

Sheik wars

Sheik invaders!

Or, in more mild tones, have fun shooting at the News of the Worlds 'fake sheikh' now that we know what he looks like. Their court action to stop publication (and this is one of those very rare occasions when Galloway did the right thing, I'm being nice to Gorgeous. Help me) failed.

Hosted on [livejournal.com profile] backing_blair, which is the temporary home of the tactical voting campaign, and created by [livejournal.com profile] bloggerheads. It tires after awhile, there are only so many times I can face shooting at someone. Still, fun.

A rodent-eating snake and a hamster have developed an unusual bond ...Their relationship began ... when zookeepers presented the hamster to the snake as a meal Via [livejournal.com profile] bssc_world

Isn't it cute? The snake, of course, the hamster is just a rodent. On the other hand, does [livejournal.com profile] simon_copp know his favoured username means meal?

Feeling a lot better now, but still not 100% right; should be in Exeter Sunday, not sure yet...

[livejournal.com profile] susannah_banana prompted me into trying this online test. Made me think (a lot), and it's rather good.

Congratulations!

You have been awarded the TPM medal of distinction! This is our second highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.

Try it. After you have, feel free to look at my results, here, I took one hit and bit one bullet, and the hit was a 50/50 undecided answer anyway.

[livejournal.com profile] nadriel tells me he did less well. Advantages of committed atheism ;-)

Here's why. Rupert Murdoch running a site with silly security flaws? Who'd a thunk it?

Back at work, got home very late last night, but quick scan of flist finds this:

Via The Virtual Stoa and Early Modern Notes, for today, tomorrow and Sunday only the Oxford University Press are offering free online access to the Dictionary of National Biography, one of the finest academic achievements of all time. Truly superb stuff - I don't think I can over-emphasise just how damn good the DNB is - register for free access and indulge. You won't regret it.

Forget about tidying, the DNB is very very cool.

Oh, I'm still going to the zoo tomorrow. I just might not do much else...

This is not my first post. This is just redated so it's not at the top of my journal all the time.

I'm Mat. This is my personal journal, the fun stuff. I also write in a few other places, including Not Little England (on UK politics) and TaKtiX (about gaming).

For more about me, your best bet is to read the bio and Userinfo. This post is mostly here so I can find all the tags I use easily, it may get more useful stuff in the future. It's not a 'Friends Only' Journal, but I do filter some stuff. Oh, if you're using Internet Explorer... ) go here and get help.
